YANAPAT JITNGOEN
born 2002
Yanapat Jitngern is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts at King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. Her upbringing in a community where daily wage labor dominates has deeply shaped her interest in the working class and their everyday lives. These themes serve as the core of her artistic practice, as she intertwines social commentary with found objects and remnants, such as discarded materials and waste, collected from her surroundings.
Yanapat views art as more than a form of storytelling; it is an interactive space for personal interpretation. Employing mixed media—including light, color, sound, and video—she creates immersive installations that invite interaction. Her works highlight issues of social inequality and the often-invisible lives of marginalized communities, offering a platform for viewers to confront these overlooked realities in an open and dynamic way.
Her artistic practice is research-driven, involving visits to different areas where she observes her surroundings and engages in conversations with local residents. She then utilizes the insights and resources gathered to create artworks that reflect her personal perspectives and emotions through various mediums, including 3D sculpture, video art, and installation art.
Yanapat's work explores themes related to the lives of the lower classes, social equality, and the role of government. She employs art as a means to share the stories she has experienced, inviting viewers to analyze and discuss social issues from their own viewpoints.
